My name is Ryan Chalupsky. I grew up in the midwest where avalanches were only something you saw on the news or in movies. Once I moved to WY and Cooke City was my home riding area, I quickly learned the risk involved in backcountry snowmobiling. Additionally, I am an engineer, so once I started learning the snow science part of Avalanche Education, I was hooked and knew this was something I was going to continue.

Additionally, I have a lot of friends and family that come our west to ride the mountains. I take that seriously to ensure we are safe and all come off the mountain together. Being from MN, they do not know anything about avalanches so this new base of knowledge is spread throughout my midwest friend groups to further their education as well.
