I grew up in Boise, Idaho skiing at Bogus Basin a short curvy ride from town. In college I spent three winters in the Wasatch before finishing up my degree in Montana. After college I moved to Stanley, Idaho and mentored with the legendary Kirk Bachman of Sawtooth Mountain Guides for the better part of a decade. From 2012-2014, I guided and taught avalanche courses for Wallowa Alpine Huts based in Joseph, Oregon. Currently, I am the director of the Outdoor Adventure Program at Eastern Oregon University, and a lead forecaster for the Wallowa Avalanche Center.
