Bio:

I have been involved with avalanche education for many decades first teaching avalanche topics and rescue on NOLS winter courses then teaching professional level courses to NOLS winter staff. In addition, I have taught numerous yurt based Rec Level 1 courses in Montana and in Wyoming. Most recently, I have been teaching and leading Rec L1, L2 and rescue courses for Northeast Mountaineering in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and in the Adirondack Mountains in Northern New York. I find teaching avalanche courses very rewarding because I find the various topics of the curriculum incredibly interesting and I really enjoy the people I work with and having students who really want to learn!
