Erica Engle is a Rec Course Director and an AIARE Pro Instructor and Instructor Trainer. She has been working in the snow and avalanche world since 2003, as a ranger, ski patroller, avalanche educator, ski guide, and backcountry forecaster. Erica earned a B.S. in Environmental Science from Western Washington University and worked in forestry and fisheries field science before becoming a mountain professional. As an IFMGA guide, she has guided and skied in a wide variety of mountain ranges and snow climates throughout the US and internationally. Erica has a special interest in training and education that serve working mountain professionals. Her background includes teaching for the American Mountain Guides Association as a National Instructor Team member and serving as the Pro Training Coordinator for the American Avalanche Association. Erica lives in the north central Cascades, in Twisp, Washington.
