As a guide and/or instructor in the avalanche and ski industry it is not uncommon to experience burnout by the end of the season. This workshop with Sam Crow is designed to help you bring a bit more awareness and balance into this season. In a nutshell: Work-life balance is the equilibrium between one's professional commitments and personal life, encompassing family, health, leisure, and personal development. Achieving this balance is beneficial for overall well-being and happiness, and SAFETY in the backcountry. It involves allocating time and energy effectively to fulfill work responsibilities while also nurturing personal relationships, pursuing hobbies, and taking care of one's physical and mental health.

Burnout is the consequence of an imbalance between work and personal life. It occurs when individuals are overwhelmed by chronic stress, often due to excessive work demands and long hours. This can lead to physical and mental exhaustion, reduced productivity, increased absenteeism, and strained relationships.

In this workshop we will go over the myths around work-life balance, Where you currently are on the burnout scale, and 10 tips for creating a bit more balance in your work week so you can do more of the things you love outside!
