AIARE Professional Avalanche Training

AIARE is proud to offer professional avalanche training designed to promote safety for all avalanche workers. As a long-time curriculum developer working with the American Avalanche Association, we are committed to our mission of “saving lives through avalanche education.” 

The Professional Avalanche Training Program consists of courses that focus on essential skills required for individuals employed in ski areas, transportation and industry, guiding, outdoor education, and public forecasting centers.

To apply to the PRO 1, applicants must have completed at least an Avalanche Rescue Course and Level 1, and be able to document experience managing risk in avalanche terrain. PRO 2 applicants must have a PRO 1 or equivalent* and be able to document at least 40 days working over at least two winter seasons.
